Evaluating Aflatoxin Production in A. flavus

In order to determinate whether HexA affect the production of AF in A. flavus, 10⁶ conidia of each strain were inoculated into 25 mL of liquid YES media in a 100 mL flask shaking at 180 r/m at 28 °C for 6 days. After that, AF was abstracted by chloroform and detected by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and UV light. AFB₁ standard was purchased from Sigma (Sigma, Germany). The procedures of aflatoxin extraction and detection followed previously described methods [37 (link)].
