Quantification of Alzheimer's Biomarkers

The Aβ42, p-Tau, and total tau levels in the soluble fraction of frozen brain tissues were quantified using an ELISA assay (Aβ42; Thermo Fisher Scientific, p-Tau; MyBioSource, San Diego, CA, USA, and total tau; Invitrogen)^{23 (link)}. All assays were performed according to manufacturer instructions. Levels of these proteins were calculated from a standard curve developed with specific optical density versus serial dilutions of a known concentration. Each standard and experimental sample was run in duplicate, and the results were averaged^{23 (link)}.
