Fungal Mycotoxin Synthesis Protocols

Potato dextrose agar (PDA) dehydrated medium, glycine, β-alanine, lysine hydrochloride, ethylamine hydrochloride, and ethylenediamine dihydrochloride were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA. Kojic acid and orsellinic acid were purchased from Cayman Chemical Company, Ann Arbor, MI. Moniliformin was the gift of the late Dr. Ronald Vesonder, National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research, Peoria, IL, USA. (±)-Botryodiplodin was synthesized as described previously [40 (link)]. Unless otherwise indicated, all other chemicals and organic solvents were obtained from Fisher Scientific, Pittsburgh, PA, USA and used without purification.
