Drosophila Housing and Crossing Protocols

Animals were housed at 25 °C with a 12-h light:dark cycle on standard cornmeal, agar, and molasses food media. For conditional studies with temperature-sensitive (ts) shibire^ts mutants^{8 (link),10 (link),40 (link)}, animals were raised at 18 °C with 12-h light:dark cycle until pharate pupal day 4 (D4), then transferred to 30 °C for 2 days before analyses.
