Genetically Engineered Mouse Models

All experimental procedures were approved by the Hebrew University Animal Care and Use Committee. Fos-CreER^T2 (ref. ^{25 (link)}) and Ai14^{29 (link)} were obtained from the Jackson laboratories (Background strain C57BL/6). TB mice were generated as detailed below (background strain FVB). We used the following mouse strains: Fos-CreER^T2;TB double heterozygous female mice (F1 hybrid of C57BL/6 and FVB strain, 8–15 weeks old), TB heterozygous female mice (F1 hybrid of C57BL/6 and FVB strain, 9–10 weeks old), wild-type female mice (F1 hybrid of C57BL/6 and FVB strain, 9–10 weeks old) and Fos-CreER^T2;Ai14 double heterozygous female mice (C57BL/6 strain, 8–10 weeks old).
