Plasma urea level was detected with a urea assay kit (DIUR-500; BioAssay Systems, Hayward, CA, USA). Plasma and urinary creatinine levels were detected using a creatinine assay kit (DICT-500; BioAssay Systems). Urinary albumin concentration was measured with a mouse-specific microalbuminuria ELISA kit (Albuwell M; Exocell, Philadelphia, PA, USA). All kidney function parameters were measured according to manufacturers' instructions 16 (link).
