These were length or aspect ratio (AR, the ratio between the major and minor axis of the ellipse equivalent to the mitochondrion), degree of branching or form factor (FF, defined as (Pm2)/(4πAm), where Pm is the length of mitochondrial outline and Am is the area of mitochondrion), and number of mitochondria per cell (Nc).
