P. rapae larvae were collected primarily from cabbage fields in the experimental farmland of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China and the laboratory colony of P. rapae was reared at 25 ± 1°C and 70% relative humidity under a photoperiod of 14 hr light: 10 hr dark in a greenhouse as previously described by Zhang et al. (2005) (link).
The following fly stocks were from the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center: HmlΔ-Gal4 (30139); UAS-5-HT1B RNAi (27634, 25833); UAS-5-HT2B RNAi (25874, 60488). The 5-HT1B control and 5-HT1BΔIII-Vflies were generous gifts from Leslie Vosshall (Gasque et al., 2013 (link)).
