- Formation of mineralization nodules
- Quantitative analysis of calcified nodules (absorbance at 405 nm)
- Cells fixed in 4% formaldehyde for 15 min
- Cells stained with 40 mM alizarin red for 30 min
- Cells washed four times with distilled water
- Cells rinsed with PBS for 15 min
- 4:1 ratio of 10% acetic acid and methanol added to dissolve calcified nodules
