A SD-OCT device (Bioptigen Inc. Durham. NC, USA) was used to record the retinal thickness 20 (link). Images were captured with the rectangular scan at 1000 A-scans per B-scan, and 100 B-scans per frame. Total retinal thickness (TRT) was measured perpendicular to the surface of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) layer and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, 500 μm away from the center of optic nerve head (ONH) using the built-in software (InVivoVU, Bioptigen), and then averaged. The examiners were blinded to the treatment information.
