The diagnosis of PA was confirmed if patients met the following three criteria: (1) aldosterone-to-renin ratio > 35, (2) a TAIPAI score > 60%, and (3) post-saline loading PAC > 10 ng/dl or aldosterone-to-renin ratio > 35 (ng/dl)/(ng/ml/h) in the post-captopril test; or PAC > 6 ng/dl in the fludrocortisone suppression test.
