Whole prostates were fixed in 4% formaldehyde (Electron Microscopy Sciences, Hatfield, PA) and embedded in paraffin. H&E staining was performed as previously described (72 (link)). Antigen was retrieved by heating slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Primary antibodies for INPP4B (Santa Cruz Biotechnology) or AR (Santa Cruz Biotechnology) were used at 1:800 dilution and sections were counterstained with hematoxylin (EMD Millipore). All images were acquired by AxioCam camera and were processed by AxioVision LE software (Zeiss).
