Validating Viral Transduction in Sst-Expressing Mice

Viral transduction was validated in C57BL/6J Sst^Gfp/+ mice (Taniguchi et al., 2011 (link); Lin and Sibille, 2015 (link)). Behavioral and molecular experiments were performed using C57BL/6J Sst^Cre/+ mice (Sst^{tm2.1(cre)Zjh}/J, Jackson Laboratories, Bar Harbour, ME; #913944), postnatal day zero at surgery and 9-16 weeks at testing. Mice were maintained under a 12-hour-light/-dark cycle (7 am-7 pm) with ad libitum food and water and were group housed (4/cage) except during behavioral testing (1/cage). Tests were performed according to Institutional and Canadian Council on Animal Care guidelines.
